Analytical Methods
In order to answer questions, Applied uses a wide array of analytical techniques ranging from simple statistics to complex multivariate procedures. Our philosophy with respect to data analysis has three aspects.
- We are early adopters of analytical techniques, but only after those techniques have passed rigorous academic discussion and software testing.
- We are constantly on the lookout for ways to use tried-and-true techniques in new and useful ways.
- We will always be problem-oriented and not technology-oriented. This simply means that we keep our eyes on our clients’ research objectives and employ the best methods for answering those questions.
In our problem-focused discovery, we use a number of software solutions, ranging from informative tabulation programs to sophisticated analytical “packages” such as SPSS and Sawtooth Software. More importantly, some of the uses to which we put the analyses are shown in the Types of Studies section.
