Donald L. Phipps

With more than 15 years of experience in brand management and marketing research, Mr. Phipps takes the client’s perspective, focusing on action-oriented projects designed with solid marketing recommendations in mind.

Before founding Applied Marketing Research, Mr. Phipps was sales director and program manager of a full-service marketing research and database marketing firm owned by Sprint Corporation. Prior to that, he was manager of marketing for Allied Signal’s Bendix/King Mobile Communications Division, where he was responsible for strategic planning, product planning, pricing/promotion strategies and inventory planning. Previously, he held marketing management positions with Kenwood U.S.A. Corporation and Data Signal, Inc.

Mr. Phipps received his undergraduate degree in journalism magna cum laude from Boston University and his MBA, with marketing and research emphases, from the University of Kansas. He is a Certified Focus Group Director (CFGD) and a member of the Business Marketing Association and the American Marketing Association. He has published several articles on marketing research and telecommunications issues.
